Subject: Brandon Gaede LOD Death, Phillipsburg, KS
Phillips County Kansas Undersheriff Brandon Gaede was killed Friday, June 27, 2025 while attempting to arrest a male subject for detonating an illegal explosive device. While attempting to arrest the male suspect, he produced a handgun and fatally wounded Undersheriff Gaede. Gaede was able to return fire, and the suspect was declared dead on scene. Gaede was transported to Phillips County Hospital where he passed away about an hour later. Undersheriff Gaede had approximately 8 years experience and leaves behind a wife and three young children.
FOP Lodge#23 would respectfully request that anyone or any Lodge that can, make a financial donation to the family at this time.
A memorial fund has been established at the Farmers State Bank, located at 110 W State Street, Phillipsburg, KS 67661. Checks can be made out to Gaede Family Memorial.
Also, a Venmo account is available for persons wishing to donate through that platform. Please make sure it is the correct account, as several scam accounts have been created as well. The attached photo/account is legitimate.
